Frequently Asked Questions

How do I install the Cluffy Lux Step® Insoles into my shoes?
Remove the shoe liner from your shoe. The geometric pattern of the Cluffy Lux Step® Insole is the top of the insole with a sticker indicating which end is the heel. The underside of the insoles are marked Right (R) or Left (L) to assist you in placing them correctly into your shoe. Put the insole in your shoe with the arch “wings” folded up to completely support the arch of your foot. Start walking with a long stride, faster pace, to begin stretching the plantar fascia ligament.
Do I cut the insoles to fit into my shoe better?
NO! The insole arch “wings” are designed to cradle your foot and work with your shoe to form the arches of the insole around your foot to provide optimum support.
Do you recommend shoes to wear with the insoles?
Quality shoes are important when wearing the Cluffy Lux Step® Insole. Please refer to our Shoe Selection Guide for more information.
How often should I wear the insoles?
The more you wear the insoles, the more effective they are. We recommend wearing them daily.
Which side of the insole is the top?
The geometric pattern is the top of the insole. Simply face this design up in your shoe and refer to the R and L mark underneath to place the heel correctly in your shoe.
Where does the blue gel pad go in my shoe?
The blue gel heel pad goes under your heel. Be sure to refer to the R or L mark underneath the insole to correctly place the heel in the appropriate shoe.
The Cluffy Lux Step® Insoles are packaged flat. How do they support the foot arches?
The arch “wings” fold up inside your shoe to completely support the arch of your foot. Please refer to Cluffy Arch Support Technology for more information.
Why does the shape of the insole look different?
The Cluffy Lux Step® Insole is a revolutionary design that is very different from traditional insoles. It looks different because it is different!
Can I move the insoles to other shoes?
Yes, the insoles are easy to switch from shoe to shoe. Be sure to check the R and L mark underneath the insole to place the heel into your shoe correctly.
What do I do if there is some foot pain with the Cluffy Lux Step® Insole?
Make sure to remove the shoe insert first and then install the Cluffy Lux Step® Insole correctly. Please refer to How to Install the Cluffy Lux Step® Insole for more information.
How do I clean the insoles?
Simply use a damp cloth and mild detergent to wipe the insoles off. Do not submerge them in water, as they are not waterproof.
Will the insoles require a break-in period before they are comfortable?
You can wear the insoles all day right away, but you will be using and moving your foot much differently than you are used to, and this may create some temporary discomfort. This will resolve fairly quickly once the plantar fascia ligament stretches to its correct length.
How long do the insoles last?
We recommend wearing the insoles daily, and most customers get about 8-10 months of normal wear out of a pair. If you exercise frequently, you may need to replace the insoles more often.
Are the insoles for running and other sports?
Yes, the insoles help runners immensely. Wear them no matter what you are doing.
