Caring for your Foot

cluffy, caring for your foot, caring for your feet, foot pain, foot pain relief,

We take health seriously and if you’re on this page, you probably do too! Our customers think our products are great because they really work. We believe in our products too. However, it takes more than just a product to get back on track with your health. Here’s some healthy tips and tricks of the trade to ensure you are properly caring for your feet.

  • Avoid shuffling while you walk
  • Walk faster as it encourages the normal foot motion
  • Walk over the big toe
  • Take longer strides to allow the big toe to bend better
  • Avoid standing in one place for a prolonged period of time. Standing is much harder on the foot than walking
  • Wear proper footwear
    • Wear shoes that are flexible on the ball of the foot to allow the foot to bend normally
    • Avoid shoes with a heel height of over one inch as these will tend to shorten the Achilles tendon
    • Ensure you are wearing a properly sized shoe
    • Avoid shoes that are too narrow, inhibiting proper motion, or too wide, creating unwanted motion
    • Wear shoes that have a wide enough toe box to accommodate the foot
    • Avoid shoes that push the big toe into the second toe, which will inhibit motion of the big toe.
  • If you are injured:
    • Do not use minimalist running shoes if you are injured. Once the pain is gone, gradually introduce them, if you would like, under the advice of a qualified trainer. Be aware that it may take a year or more to fully break in to these shoes.
    • If you are injured, reduce your walking or running activity to about 50% of our pre-injury level or only do what you can with minimal pain until your foot feels better.
